The local angling community came together recently to honour Mike Hatton, long-standing chairman of Ashton Keynes Angling Club, who has contributed to the community and angling for over half a century.

Mike, a former district councillor and longest-serving committee member, is now in his 39th year as chair of the Club. He was treated to a surprise BBQ by friends and colleagues at the Cotswold Country Park last month, where he was presented with a certificate of ‘voluntary excellence’ by the Angling Trust in recognition of his record of service.

Today, working closely with the Cotswold Lakes Trust, Ashton Keynes Angling Club aims to enhance, protect and regenerate these fisheries while ensuring they remain accessible for future generations to enjoy.
